Nekemte Coffe is one of EGSA’s popular coffee beans growing in the district of Anfilloo, Oromia region. Seven different high lands forests are providing this coffee, some of which reach 2400 masl, giving to the coffee its complex fruity flavors. Medium-to-bold bean known for its fruity taste, has greenish-brownish in color with good acidity and body.

Unlike other coffee beans, this coffee benefits from a double certification: it has the organic and the bird friendly labels. In addition of being havens for birds, shade coffee plantations provide habitat for myriad insects, orchids, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and other less well-known occupants of tropical forests. Furthermore, shade trees protect fragile soils from erosion, provide nutriment and suppress weeds, thus reducing or eliminating the need of chemical herbicides and fertilizers, lowering farming costs.
